Tony Marshall (1940-2013)

Tony Marshall had a long and recognized career as a photographer and television director in New York City. His work brought him on the set and on stage in noteworthy historical moments in NY culture and current affairs and in an intimacy with his subjects. He took sensitive, perceptive black and white photographs of precious New York City human interest stories, behind-the-scenes moments, performances, city streetscapes and architectural details.

Tony lived in SoHo and his work captured the New York City cultural landscape of the last quarter of the 20th Century. Many of these sensitive moments and views still characterize New York today: unique city moments that New Yorkers recognize and can relate to.
